Full conversion and installation
The BCEC wanted to convert an old gym, swimming pool and storage area of a hotel into a bespoke conference centre.
On this particular project, we were tasked with working to drawings issued by a London-based mechanical and electrical consultancy.
Our engineers carried out the full installation of containment, power, lighting, and communications wiring to the whole site as per the issued drawings, to the highest of standards.
As the areas being converted were parts of a hotel that were still fully operational, we had to collaborate with the hotel to ensure that any work planned did not have a negative impact on the hotel itself. An important factor of this was noise levels. We planned and co-ordinated all works in order to keep these down.
Throughout the process, we managed our own workload and liaised with the main contractor in order to maintain the scheduled outlined by the client, avoiding any delays.
It was also our responsibility to implement a full 110v temporary power and lighting system on site for all trades, keeping this system fully maintained until the project was at completion.
Once all systems were in place, our commissioning engineers took over and carried out all necessary testing and commissions, before issuing a full O&M file.
